Aims & Objects

The All India Journalist Press Association aims to elevate the status of journalists while fostering cooperation and understanding among its members. It is committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity. Additionally, the association advocates for improved working conditions, including fair salaries and job security, and more.

Aims & Objects

The Aims & Objects of the Association are:

  1. To raise the status of members of the profession of journalism.
  2. To promote a spirit of co-cooperation and understanding among working journalists.
  3. To promote the highest standards of professional conduct and integrity.
  4. To strive for the betterment of working conditions of journalists; especially salary, tenure of office and conditions of service and for prevention of socially unrelated automation.
  5. To safeguard and promote journalists’ interests generally, in particular to assist members where necessary in securing employment.
  6. To promote amenities for recreation and scope for social and cultural activities.
  7. To build up and administer funds for the provision of legal aid, unemployment, disablement, retirement and death benefits of an allied nature.
  8. To promote wage agreement on a provincial or an all- India basis by the Federation acting between the employers and the employees and provide assistance to members of the Federation in the event of a trade dispute of when in the opinion of the working committee of the Federation, they are being dealt with wrongly.
  9. To secure facility for training of journalists on a countrywide basis and for periodic exchanges of journalists abroad.
  10. To strive for the freedom of the press.
  11. To work for and promote legislation for the welfare of working journalists.
  12. To publish souvenirs, periodicals, leaflets, brochures, illustrations and other publications for the achievements of the objects of the Society.
  13. To organise seminars, conferences, awareness camps, nukkad nataks for dissemination of information.
  14. To provide logistical support such as studios, indoor and outdoor shooting, shooting equipment including cameras, lights and all related equipments and connected facilities for any kind of shooting of any media related programs to general public and members of the AIJPA.
  15. To conduct the affairs of the Federation and its constituent units on professional and trade union lines and to forge organic links with like- minded organisations of newspaper employees.
  16. To create and publish printed and / or audio visual materials to disseminate News in Print Media, Electronic Media and the exchange of experience, skills and expertise with other people and organisations interested in the fulfillment of the primary objects of the society.
  17. To raise and receive funds and resources through memberships, Sponsorships, Publication of Advertisements, donations, appeals, gifts, grants, aid, contribution, financial assistance and loans from people and institutions that wish to help the society propagate its works and activities.
  18. To do any legal peaceful act which may be required from time to time to promote the objects of the society.
  19. To formulate plans, schemes and programs for rural development, Welfare of society and execute the same for the Welfare of the rural community in the field of Education. 
  20. To work support and campaign for public welfare in all dimensions phase and aspects, in particular,  to promote physical, health, mental, eternal, moral and Ethical development of human Beings.
  21. To provide and work for the spiritual growth of individual in the society of organizing  Meditation camps, Lectures, Seminars,  Public talk on various traditions and various events, culture integrity as well as contemporary, Spiritual growth techniques available and work for the upliftment  of the human consciousness.
